I walk into Isaac’s bedroom this morning and he’s standing on his bed admiring a simple picture of mountains that sits above his bed. His little fingers are touching the peaks of the mountains…
“Good Morning Isaac, did you sleep well?”
He ignores my question, looks at me inquisitively and sez “Mummy take photos on mountains?”
I reply “Yeees, sometimes Mummy takes photos on mountains”
“Mummy take photos on mountains, Daddy take photo on mountains, Isaac take photos on mountains, Dominic take photos on mountains”
We didn’t hit up any mountains this weekend, but me and the boys ventured round the Peninsula on Saturday while Doug captured Miriam and Will’s sensational day, and then we had a fun family day out at Pines Beach on Sunday. All in all, we had ourselves a pretty spectacular Labour Weekend!
Our most frequent beach is Sumner… honestly, it’s the first time we’ve been to Pines Beach for personal reasons and not for an engagement or family shoot. As a favourite spot over the years, I’ve dreamed of going there with my kids (as simple as that sounds)… and now that time is upon me. I soaked up some bliss watching and engaging with Isaac digging, running, splashing and getting his bum out when his clothes got too wet, all while the sun was going down and the evening was trucking on. Just a few more photos for me to pop in a family photo book one day!! hehe
Tell me, where are some of your favourite spots to venture to, and what do you like to do there? (P.s doing Nothing is totally an answer haha) .. share with us in the comments below, would love to hear some of your fave spots! :)
Sometimes our adventures are planned, and sometimes we just follow our noses. Saturday, I kept driving while the kids were sleeping, keeping my eye out for a beautiful spot to play when they woke. That beautiful spot just happened to be Purau Bay. After some chippies in Diamond Harbour, we stopped off at Chartris Bay, the perfect place for Isaac to climb up a storm and for my heart to do flick flacks. Both in the way of love and in the way of “ISAAC BE CAREFUL” lol. He’s sooo competent, I actually have so much faith in his stability and balance… gosh he reminds me of ME when I was little!!! And I was sweeeet! lol but still… I’m a Mum. Mum’s hearts are stretched faaaar and wiiiiide. :)Saying Hi to Daddy. Isaac and Doug spend SO much time together (the beauty of working for ourselves) so when Doug’s not around for the adventures, he definitely misses him.As we ended the Chartris Bay adventure, my promise to Isaac was that we can begin a new adventure tomorrow but this time with Daddy. “Shall we bring Daddy here or somewhere just as pretty?” … I got a huge nod and Doug’s request the next day, was Pines Beach!! Boom! That smile of yours, Isaac Sebastian! <3Our house is messy, but our hearts and minds are full of adventure!! Time for an early night!
