Friends are an amazing part of ones life. You can choose who to surround yourself with. They are the family we choose for ourselves.
You laugh with them, learn from them, they help shape you, and you them. And if you find a really good one, you can be serious…or an absolute goon and they won’t blink an eye lid. In fact they’ll join!
So, when I posted a blog somewhat 15 months ago. And a perfect stranger commented. I didn’t realise who had come into my life and the impact they would make.
Kim is the kind of person you meet and you just have a craving to be friends with. She is kind and caring. Weird and wonderful. Crazy and spontaneous. And up for anything. To find out that we were of the same age, both at the beginning of our photographic careers…AND getting married around the same time?! The click was so prominent you’d hear it from one side of the Grand Canyon to the other.
Photography is just one of many things we both love so much! Kim is absolutely rocking the Dunedin scene! I alwaysssss look forward to seeing what she pumps out next.
She is absolutely gorgeous inside and out. She can throw an awesome batch of cupcakes together too (even when perfection goes out the window and the icing looks like unicorn poop). In fact she has many hidden talents! And most of all I love how funny, cheeky and even a wee bit feisty she can be! (Yeah you know it ;-)
So yeah. Kim and I haven’t known each other all to long. But to counteract that, I feel like I’ve known her my entire life. You might say she’s pretty cool…
But enough of kissing ya butt… Let’s get on and show everyone how truly gorgeous you really are!…
…Onward and forth my friend!
See… cheekiness right from the beginning! She’s on fire! :)
Kim and Liam (and here) got married in January. Doug and I were lucky enough to attend. And in turn, I am so glad they attended ours. And one year after we did each other’s engagements. Kim and I did our Flaunt that Dress shoots…
…Arrowtown got a treat that day.
I love Kim’s dress and that flower featured on her hip. It was all made by her very talented mother in-law. So beautiful!
These weren’t Kim’s wedding day shoes so much as her dancing shoes for later in the night. A. Kim looooves the colour green. And B. She is an incredible dancer! To witness her and Liam’s first dance first hand, was beyond incredible! There’s no other like it!
This lovely little smile came about because she was mocking my choice in pose. Ya..thanks mate! But look how gooooooooood you look!!! Mission accomplished! :)
You looked soooooo good and husband-less in fact, that we had to peel this young man off you!
Arrowtown supplied ample choice in location. And it was soooo beautifully green at this time of year.
Did I mention she’s pretty darn cute too?
I think this has to be a favourite with me. Especially with it raining softly in the background. A magical land without a castle.
Mmm I love how the greenery makes Kim glow!
Remember my stop motion with Kim? When we took a spontaneous trip to find some yellow fields . FAIL. But we still had loads of fun with M&M’s, and this time we swapped them for Jelly Beans! Have to eat sweet to keep sweet. ;-)
Didn’t ya know?!
All good things must come to an end… but only until next time.
I had an absolutely all round fabulous day! You are amazing in every respect. Thank you for creating colourful awesomeness with me. Adventuring with me. For those 5 kilos of body weight from devouring cupcakes that I walked away with! And especially. Thanks you being you! :)
Until the next adventure! xx
