Steph & Dave {Engaged}
So… I think everyone knows by now, that I’m always up for a bit of a road trip. If I can’t go overseas right now, then by golly am I going to make the most of this beautiful country!
So this weekend I headed to Blenheim…
to check in on some vineyards you might ask?…
sort of… butttt no…
to stop in at Nin’s Bins for some cray?…
nope, that’s not for everyone…
To meet Steph and Dave?….
YESSSS!
Steph and Dave live on a farm just outside of Blenheim. And wow-wee is it cool! (Check out the city chick writing this blog)
Their awesome-crazy dog Cleo even cracked a smile.
These two met the good old kiwi way…
In a pub.
Dave’s a farmer, and what’s the best thing for a farmer after a hard days work?… A pint.
Steph is a lawyer, and what’s the best thing for a lawyer after a hard days work?… A pint!!!
It. just. works. :)
I liked Dave and Steph instantly. Dave had the knack of really relaxing Steph. I always enjoy seeing that in a couple.
And the ring… I was flabbergasted! Absolutely stunning. Steph always liked the idea of a rose gold ring, and so they had this gorgeous ring made. And gorgeous it is!
Steph loves her horses. So much so that she has 4 of them! FOUR HORSES!
One hungry stallion tried nibbling at my camera gear.
The horses below and above are mother and daughter.
And here goes game of pea knuckle war… who won?
What breath of fresh air shooting in Blenheim (not that I’ve exhausted Christchurch yet) but shooting on this gorgeous property was such a pleasure! Check those hills in the background. This is their view! Such a beautiful place to build on.
Horses AND Sheep!
A wee skip across a fence and we were in a vineyard… (jealous much.. just a little)
What silly photographer told them to put their head through the vines? Don’t they look cute though?
Apparently the industry isn’t doing so well -sad face-. There were so many unpicked grapes on the vines which is such a shame. “I would have drunk all that wine” Steph said… Me too Steph!
And then the sun popped his head through the dramatic clouds to say hello and shine a light down on this lovely engaged couple.
The timing of the light coupled with the moody clouds just makes it. I love it!
This is their temporary house as they prepare for building.
Normally I’m considerate of what people will do for a photo… lying on the wet grass… possibly beside some sheep poo? No probs… Steph seemed to be more worried about ME traipsing through the paddock… nah, I was LOVING it!
Steph and Dave… Thank you for inviting me onto your property, you’ve almost got me wanting to move up there. :). I had such a great time with you both and I know your wedding in January is going to be a stunner! Enjoy every moment of this brief and enchanting time and all the preparations that go with it.
