Flavour of the Week: Master Theo
Grandparents.
That special role where spoiling of the grandchild is accepted greatly and not viewed as favouring. Wisdom can be embarked happily, and eventually accepted happily. THIS child CAN be given back. And I think what I obviously can’t identify with, but feel heartily with is that… this child came from your child. It’s special enough to have children, but to have your children have children and watch them grow up. Pure Magic. Richard and Sharon are proud Grandparents for the first time to little Theo. Just see how they look at him. Theo is a delicate bundle of joy to them. Its evident!
Theo felt so at ease in his Gramps arms, I reckon they are going to have a special bond. They already do!
Theo’s almost staring down the camera saying “He’s my Gramps! Mine!!!!!”. I know Theo, you can have him! Can I be friends with him at least?
My Mum and Dad have been friends with Sharon and Richard since they moved to New Zealand somewhat 25, 26 years ago. I grew up with Theo’s Uncle Marc from the very first breath I took. Lisa, Theo’s Mum tells me she reckons Theo and Marc look alike at this age… I wonder if Marc’s mischievous ways are en-grained in Theo too. If so…. he’s got some fun and interesting years ahead of him.. and perhaps he’ll find someone to share the fun and mischievous games with as they grow. Because I can tell you now… there will be stories to tell!
Beautiful. The mischief is still in Richard. I love it!
To be able to do what I do is a miracle. I may not be able to diagnose an illness, perform heart surgery or make a difference in Africa (yes that is thinking big) . But to capture the moments between generations, between new love, developing love, grown up love, new life, the life lived and everything in between is nothing short of a blessing. And I love it every single day. Thank you to the people who want it and allow me to do so. Including The Clark Family and my Mum and Dad’s dear old friends up above.
