7 months ago at this very spot just past the sign of the bellbird, a proposal took place.
7 months on with a basket of home baking in hand, they return for some engagement photos.
It’s not very often I get the privilege of going to the exact spot where one of my couples got engaged. So Saturday was rather special. Not only did Doug and I get to know Katie and Bradley that extra bit more, but we got a sense of a very romantic proposal.
One warm summer’s evening at the beginning of the year. After 4 years together, Bradley decided to make an honest woman out of Katie. He lead her up to a very distinct spot with Christchurch on one side of the road, and a picnic basket and blanket on the other side of the road over looking the Banks Peninsula. A little spot so beautiful and comfortable, you’d feel like the only two people in the world. Here he popped the question.
I’ve spoken about long distance relationships before. And I commend everyone who’s done it or does it. Katie and Bradley are another couple who have done the long distance thing. Katie is studying to be a Doctor. So 3 years down at Otago had them alternating a drive from Dunedin to Christchurch every 2 weeks. It’s lucky that the 4 & a half hour distance isn’t too great, especially when you’ve got someone special who you really want to see.
So Katie of course said yes to Bradley’s proposal. And now they are getting ready for their November wedding. And we couldn’t be more thrilled to be shooting it.
The dreamy spot.
I love how Katie looks at Bradley!
Oh Katie, you’re are going to make such a happy and beautiful bride!
