Yay! I’m so so so excited to be finally blogging under our new name!! Whoop whoop!
On Saturday, photographers be photographers and we got our geek on with some fun lighting techniques!… We had a fabulously fun afternoon in the warm winter sunlight with our great friends Kim and Liam of Kimberley Cheyne Photography to advance our skills in the funnest way possible.
Cossars Wineshed kindly allowed us to use their venue to skip around and play with our ideas!
Abbie & Lynard were our amazing last minute models who took robot instructions in some parts and laughed at our insanely “awesome” jokes! So appreciative to them and their wonderful, fun, carefree personality’s! Couldn’t have asked for a better couple!!
I’m totally a natural light shooter all the way, where as Doug looooves off camera lighting. Even in casual situations he jokes “should we back light it?”. It’s rather annoying sometimes lol. But I so looove teaming up with Doug for ideas as to how we can achieve a beautiful result together. But again – naturally… Kim and I went from shooting flash stuff… to using the good ol natural light that we love so much! :)

This was my favourite from the afternoon. Shooting into a wee pond never looked so good!
Natural light and natural laughter!! Perfection in one!
At this point, Doug and Liam were setting up the photos at the end of the blog, …playing with some ideas. Kim and I poked our noses out the door of the barn at Cossars and caught a glimpse of the intense and vibrant yellow sunset! … So we abandoned anything that the boys were setting up for a moment and dragged our beautiful couple into the real light and caught some extra special real moments!!
Abbie & Lynard!! Thank you sooooo much for being so gosh darn fabulous and so insanely fun to work with! Doug and I are stoked with our results by simply having a play!
And to our amazing friends Kim and Liam!! … Stay cool you two!! We kinda like ya!! ;-) Catch you guys soon! xx
Now no more posts (talking to myself here!!) .. We have bags to pack!! … 12 hours until we’re at the airport…. ITALY…. hereeee weeee commmmeeeeeee!!!!
Lots of Love,
Heather & Doug xoxox
