It’s funny when you book a couple over email. You have no idea who they are past a few sentences per email, what there personality’s are like OR what they look like.
I guess I didn’t know what I expected when I met Rose and Kyle. I knew Rose was into Horses and then the rest I learn upon meeting them! Yip Rose sure does like Horses. Horses are her life. She showcases them, races them. She has 4 miniatures she shows and shes off most weekends doing that.
Kyle is into cars. He is a fully certified Mechanic, can build an engine from scratch and hopes to go into business for himself next year.
They were both nervous about the shoot and completely shy of cameras. Rose said at one point nearing the end. “Kyle! Smile!” He said “I haveeee been!!” and looking through the session to choose what I wanted to blog. OH MY GOODNESS am I amazed at how many smiles there really are. Smiles, laughter, genuine affection and joy have come out of this shoot. Why? Because it comes from this fantastic couple who are so comfortable with one another (you would hope so after an amazing 8 years together) and it shines right through the images. Which makes my job easy … because… all I have to do is make sure I capture it.
We went out to an amazingly rich and vibrant, not to mention completely run down and rustic location on the way to Rarangi Beach in Blenheim. I sooooo wish this was in Christchurch. But then again that’s what I love about going away. New locations. It’s a treat.
You probably wouldn’t guess that Rose is cringing from the inside out at looking so closely into the lens. But look how natural, beautiful and comfortable you look! Helps being in the arms of the one you love hu!
Piggy back time. I think Rose was enjoying this a touch too much. lol. Giddy up!
Mind blank of what to say because all I can think is I love love loveeeeeeee this!
Having a wee look at the ring. quite fitting during the engagement shoot I reckon.
8 years together, somewhat a decade of knowing each. A year of being engaged and 3 months until their wedding. And they continue to smile and laugh together. Match made in heaven? Hells yes!
I don’t know how Kyle felt about they rustic dingy old cars. He makes a living of making cars well again. And well, this is a car graveyard let’s be honest. But Mmmmmmmmm do I love the rustic richness of the colours.
There were some crazy sounds coming from the paddock. Sounded like something was dying. But nope just a friendly lamb that sounded like it’s been smoking it’s whole young life!
Rose laughs A LOT! I LOVE people who laugh A LOT. What would this world be without laughter? Laugh at yourself and it’s even better!
And the locations just keep getting better and better.
And without realising almost 2 hours had gone by … it was time to go home.
Rose and Kyle. You were nervous. But didn’t act like it. I told you to hold on to each other. And you most certainly did!
You are both amazing and I am now that much more excited about shooting your February Wedding. It is going to be incredible.
Happy wedding planning for the final months. See you soon! :)
