Amy & Mike {Married}
Amy is one of those wonderfully organised and relaxed girls. Mike is her supportive and completely chilled out partner in crime. So when the 4th of October rolled around.. there wasn’t a grey hair in sight. Not a stress line visible on the face. These guys were simply cruising into the next phase of their lives as hubby and wife without a worry in the world.
Mike and Amy have known each other for many years. Meeting in their school days, Mike had an interest straight away. But it took catching up again whilst overseas somewhat 7 years ago for that the spark to be ignited. And from there they found a lot of common ground including a passionate love for travel, which they have done much of together til this day.
What would be do without iPhones and Youtube these days? How to tie a tie 101.
Mike’s feeling a little nervous… but he hides it well. I think it’s more excitement than nerves anyway.
Amy wanted a photo of her dress next to her Mum’s wedding dress. I must say.. I am a fan of that 70’s flower power design. :)
And even material from the Amy’s Mum’s bridesmaid dresses were wrapped around the bouquets. How cool!
Engagement photos are a big thing of what I do in my job. I absolutely love capturing the engagement of one of our wedding couples. We tend to go into nature whether the park, the beach or even urban city life.. what ever takes their fancy.. and we capture an afternoon of love in more than just one frame. I just LOVED seeing Helen and John’s engagement photo (on the left) .. and back then 42 years ago… one frame was all you needed to say ‘This is us, when we were engaged’.
And look at the happy couple 41 years later. Nothing but love, positivity and happiness oozed from these two!
Over at The Tea House, Mike has given the all go.. he is ready to seal the deal.
“This bell will preserve harmony in your lives, ward off evil spirits, and will ensure you stay ever mindful of your wedding vows and the love you share on your wedding day. If you ever quarrel, one of you can ring the bell to remind the other of your ever lasting love.”
I love watching the joy of hugs. It’s a close thing where two hearts become very close for a moment of time. A way to express the love and joy they feel for the receiver. (I’m definitely a huggy girl!- can you tell?!)
Where oh where did my wife go? … Such a curious thing!
“Do you want to go round the long way, or over the fence?” was the question for Amy! … Nope she was saving her feet and doing the jump! … Love it!
Blossom brilliance! You two are simply gorgeous!
Into the reception, the night of good ol stories, giggles and hanging with friends and family commenced.
But we couldn’t leave without dragging Mike and Amy outside for a few more magical shots.
Thank you Mike and Amy for including us in your special day. You guys are such a great couple and we know you have so many happy years ahead of you. …Not long until Rarotonga now!… Enjoy every second of beach time on your honeymoon! :)
