Go back to PART 2
As the guests return to Stonebridge after a 3 hour break, so do the bridal party. The sun has lowered, dusk is settling in. And everything starts to glow.
And he is married to Aunty Aileen. They have been married for 53 years. I said that was a long time! And Peter said ‘Well, it doesn’t feel that long’. Now that’s the sort of thing you want to hear from your husband after half century of being together. Peter you are a keeper.
The sun was setting and the reception is calling the brides name.
People ask, why an engagement shoot? Well, this is my answer. I shot their engagement in Tekapo in October. And they made this gorgeous image into a canvas and everyone wrote their messages around it. Such a FANTASTIC idea!
Into the speeches we go. Referencing the movie ’10 Things I hate about you’. Jeff wants to tell everyone, 10 Things he Loves about Gemma. He starts with forgiveness. ‘Number 10, I love how forgiving you are’…
‘Number 9, I love the way you drive a car’… *cute delightful sarcasm streams through the room* :o)
And as he goes through the list and reveals and Gemma’s deepest darkest habits, this image just reminds me of the conversation I had with Gemma’s Mum from the drive from their house to the ceremony about how Jeff loves to tease Gemma.
They are going to have a happy life, that I am certain of!
The nephews rock the D floor at their first wedding!
And right before we were about to slide out the door, guess what cutie comes sliding towards me!
Each table was named after Love. Each in a different language. This was our table. So if you didn’t know Swahili before… you sure know at least one word now. :o)
What a day. From beginning to end, it was filled with love. Love played a big part in their day. In all respects. We feel so privileged to be able to capture something so special. Like Uncle Peter and Aunty Eileen, you Gemma and Jeff are the couple that will get to 50 years and think… ‘Wow, it doesn’t feel that long’. And don’t worry Jeff… I’m sure the driving would of improved by then. (My fingers were crossed behind my back) :o)
Congratulations once again and enjoy your epic honeymoon in many parts of Asia. Have an amazinggggggg time! I will have loads more to show you by the time you return! Upendo. xoxo
