Harriet & Connor ~ St Andrews Church
There have been some amaaaazing weddings this season, and Harriet and Connor’s black-tie / country-chic wedding here in Christchurch was just that. Style and class comes to mind to describe this down to earth country boy and his beautifully sophisticated new wife! They married at St Andrew’s Church, at Rangi Ruru Girl’s High School, which Harriet, her mother and her grandmother all attended and then onto Mrs Hucks Restaurant, for some champagne on the lawn and the evening’s events…
I headed to Merivale Manor to capture a relaxed atmosphere where the girls were getting ready. While Doug headed just a few doors down Papanui Road to the boys…
I always try to imagine what each bride will choose as her wedding dress. And I couldn’t pick it with Harriet, it all made sense though when I saw it.. so elegant and absolutely perfect!
The lovely Chrystal O’Brien did a superb job on Harriet and her girl’s make up, as per usual! :)
Down the road, the guys are in no hurry to suit up! But when they do, they won’t recognise themselves! For now though, it’s all cricket, summer and chats of what an amazingly social day lay ahead for them…
Just look at this young man, all braced and bow tied up, ready to walk into his next stage of life with a smile on his face and not a stress in the world…
It’s all calm in the house for their ‘First Look’…
As said earlier, today we ride in style….
Up to the Port Hills we went, in search of some tussock grass, sun and sweeping views of Banks Peninsula and Christchurch City..
And don’t these gents just look dapper and suave all at the same time?!…
With a marvelous and hot summers day, we were in need of some shade, so we headed to one of our favourite forests…
The guests were rounded up from all over Christchurch and abroad, and brought to St Andrews Church via Hyde Park Corner…
Once we had all arrived at the church there was enough time for a pre-wedding dance in the foyer before heading down the aisle…
And introducing Mr & Mrs McCormick…..
Mrs Hucks, proudly brought to you by Chef Jonny Schwass, was the best setting for some summer afternoon champagne and oysters on the grass…
In our opinion, of all that man has created on earth, there’s not a lot better than a triple layer cheese wheel wedding cake….
With the fine smell of charcoal in the air, it was time for the evenings celebrations to commence…
Harriet & Connor, it was such a pleasure to capture your stunning wedding day, we wish the two of you all the very best in all that comes your way, may the wind always be at your backs.. :)
All our best.
Heather & Doug :)
