Mel & Mat {Married} Part 1
Exactly 1 year on from the day Mat took Mel up in a helicopter on the Kaikoura Coast to ask for her hand in marriage, they prepare to join together for life on their wedding day just one hour South of Kaikoura.
Mel and Mat are an energetic, lively, out going couple with a zest for life and a passion for each other. Back in October, I shot their engagement shoot and got to know them so much more. I learned they are funny, I learned they are silly, I learned they are soooo happy and I learned that they love each other to the ends of the earth and back. I learned a lot of GREAT stuff.
March 15th 2014 at Tipapa Woolshed in the Greta Valley was a completely overcast day. But when you have a couple who shine brighter than the sun when they are together, who needs the sun itself! We were so excited to be capturing this beautiful day and all the hard work from Mel and Mat and the efforts they put into their day, were finally revealing themselves!!
Mel got ready in the beautiful Victorian House out the front with her little lively bridesmaids/nieces who were absolute gems. While Mat was out the back hoping the rain would stay away for an outdoor ceremony and enjoying the company of his family.
Mel’s nieces were SO awesome, as they broke into song and dance for pure entertainment!
Playing with a Little Library is always fun! Aren’t these just perfect!! :)
Mel had a peacock theme running right throughout the day. Peacock feathers, teals and purples made a big appearence from start to finish!
The woolshed was looking so fantastic for the reception!
Across the way, Mat starts getting himself all ready and handsome.
A little last minute work on his speech… writing it on the back of a piece of beer box of all things lol.
The guests start arriving and we can see everything from the bedrooms … time to get into that beautiful dress! :)
Are you ready Mat (with one T) ? … Time to get you married Mr!
Mel and Mat decided to only have their nieces and nephew up there with them! They were all sooo stoked to be standing there with their Aunty and Uncle as they say their ‘I Do’s.
‘Joy’ has a way of leaking out of the places that you need to see through. So much happiness!
We’re only half way through the ceremony, follow me through to Part 2 where you’ll see so much more gorgeousness… and also meet Mullet Man… you cant say you’re not intrigued right?! …
