There is a REASON I wanted to become a wedding photographer and it’s the simple reason of Love. I love love and I believe in it with all my heart. Call me corny if you will! … But I can tell you now, I don’t really care!! haha… because LOVE ROCKS!!!!
This is a blog post of highlights from just one season’s worth of love stories that we’ve been honoured in capturing. However when I speak of loving love, I’m not only referring to weddings and marriage. Love comes in and goes out in sooo many different ways, ways we can fail to recognise as being love.
It’s all about relationships. From the dairy man you buy your milk from, to the check out chick who judges you for how much sugar is in your shopping trolly, to your Doctor, your best friends near and far and your awesome family. Obviously my list could go on forever, in life there are A LOT of types of relationships!
When you use your heart for love, this is when acts of kindness happen. This is where words of encouragement come into play, along with listening ears and thoughtfulness. Loving acts can be in every single part of our day and sometimes it has to be a conscious decision. But how nice is the thought that by simply smiling and making lovely light fluffy conversation with someone for a mere 30 second transaction while you pay for your petrol, can make both your day and that person’s day just that much more awesome! Or how about holding a door for someone, or letting someone into traffic, or knowing when to stop talking and just listen, complimenting someones new top or knowing when someone needs a hug. Or simply using your manners of please and thank you very much! They’re all acts of kindess, courtesy and therefore love! …. Obviously not the kind that has you declaring it from a mountain top because your heart is pumping far too much blood and your limbs go all tingly. But the day to day love is just as important if not more, than the BIG love!! ….
I literally have no point as to why I’m rambling on about this…. I’ve just been having a lot of these thoughts lately… and well, it’s my blog… I can say what I want!!!! tehehe!
Sometimes I fail at the above. In fact I fail a lot, but I am only human after all… but the next day I pick up my chin and I try again, consciously activating acts of kindness into every day. Trying is key. Acts of kindness as simple and powerful as that smile I spoke of, a smile which is free to use, whenever you please!
And as this cheese platter suggests, a platter lovingly thrown together by a friend who did not notice the heart, but certainly brings the love to all situations she can… Love is all around!
